What I Do

I partner with nonprofit and public-sector leaders to provide thoughtful advisory support and practical trainings that strengthen organizational capacity from the inside out. My work helps organizations clarify strategy, align leadership and staff, and build systems that support effective, ethical, and resilient operations over time.

Customized trainings for nonprofit and government teams focused on strengthening practice, improving coordination, and building long-term institutional capacity.

One-on-one and small-group support for executive leaders and senior staff focused on decision-making, leadership effectiveness, and navigating complex organizational challenges over time.
My Approach
My approach is collaborative, disciplined, and grounded in real-world conditions. I understand the constraints organizations face—political, financial, operational, and human—and work within those realities rather than around them.
I prioritize clarity over jargon, substance over trends, and solutions that are practical, principled, and sustainable. Fundraising is treated as one component of organizational health, situated within broader systems of leadership, governance, and capacity-building.
About Me
Josh Fertitta, CFRE
Nonprofit & Public Sector Advisor
I am a CFRE-credentialed nonprofit and public-sector advisor who works with boards, executive leaders, development teams, and government partners to strengthen organizational capacity and navigate change across the social safety net.
My work was shaped early on while helping rebuild communities in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. That experience revealed how deeply policy, resources, and institutional systems shape people’s ability to recover and thrive. Since then, I have focused on helping mission-driven organizations build the leadership, infrastructure, and capital needed to deliver meaningful and equitable impact.
Over the course of my career, I have secured more than $110 million in philanthropic and government support and held senior leadership roles across nonprofit and public systems. My experience includes serving as Vice President of Development in the nonprofit sector and leading workforce policy and program implementation as Director of Workforce Development for Louisiana’s SNAP and TANF funded workforce programs.
Today, I advise organizations navigating growth, transition, and complexity—approaching fundraising not as a standalone function, but as part of broader institutional health and long-term sustainability.
